Arbitration Policy -

Regal Auctions has been in business in Calgary since 1985 and in the past 21 years has established itself as Alberta's number one used vehicle outlet.

To have secured this coveted niche in the marketplace, Regal is proud that it always has and always will be fair to both buyers and sellers and emphasizes that all business dealings will be conducted in an honest and ethical manner. It is our intention to create an atmosphere that inspires confidence and trust in both this company and the automotive business in general. We expect the same of our customers, with our open door, all are welcome policy. However, any person who intentionally sets out to deceive or defraud or bring disrepute to the auction industry will be permanently barred from this auction and appropriate notifications sent to the other auctions within the province.

We encourage all our valued customers, both buyers and sellers to become thoroughly familiarized with our general and arbitration policies prior to conducting business as ignorance will not be accepted as a defence.

Regal Auctions Ltd. deals only with previously owned vehicles. Most used vehicles require some reconditioning or repairs. It is essential that buyers inspect vehicles carefully before an auction begins. A mechanic or knowledgeable friend can be invaluable when making a selection.

Buyers are obligated to listen for any announcements or declarations as vehicles are presented eg. out of province, mileage unknown, accident repaired etc. Before an auction begins, buyers should know what is, and what is not eligible for arbitration, and how an arbitration is conducted.

All vehicles must be paid for in full in order to be submitted for arbitration. After the vehicle is paid in full, the purchaser then has 3 hours to have an inspection done and make any concerns known to Regal Auctions.

Any arbitratable items that can be repaired for $500 or less is not subject to the arbitration policy. This expense belongs to the buyer. Only major mechanical defects are eligible for arbitration. Vehicles purchased for less than $4000 are sold "AS IS", unless otherwise stated and therefore not subject to arbitration.

All visible and minor defects are not eligible for arbitration. In addition, the following items are not eligible for arbitration:

What is arbitratable?

If the following problems or conditions exist and have not been declared, the vehicle is arbitratable:

1. Mechanical

It is up to the purchaser of any "OUT OF PROVINCE", "WRITTEN OFF" or "FRAME DAMAGED" vehicle not declared to determine the status within 15 days. If the buyer does not request this extended arbitration "within the 15-day time period", then the sale becomes final.

The auction does not provide insurance coverage of any kind on vehicles and assumes no risk therefore for fire, theft, collision, vandalism or any other damage to any vehicle before, during or after the sale. Both the seller and buyer of the vehicle, left on the auction's premises, must have their own fire and theft insurance.

Vehicles sold "UNRESERVED" or "SOLD AS IS" are not subject to arbitration.

In Closing

Regal Auctions would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our valued customer for allowing us the priviledge of serving you. Please remember, that buying a used vehicle can be a joyous and rewarding experience, but one that should always be approached with a certain degree of caution and research.

"CAVEAT EMPTOR" - "BUYER BEWARE" Still Applies.
